Silent Enemy

Episode Name: Silent Enemy
Series: Star Trek Enterprise, Season 1
Rating: Four Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
The Enterprise drops a communications device so they can use sub-space communication. Archer sets Hoshi on finding Malcolm's favorite food for his birthday.
But danger comes when a spaceship appears that stays silent. Too soon, the ship is discovered to be an enemy. But there's no record of this mysterious species.
Can the Enterprise  fight an enemy that they don't know about, or have any way to find out about?

Mission Report:
Ah, a better one! The story was pretty good, though it could use tweaking (like, why where the aliens attacking the Enterprise? I would guess experimentation, but I have no idea). The Malcolm storyline was pretty good too, along with a little amusing. The episode was pretty enjoyable, though you got a little dizzy from the "power-outage" scenes.
This was a pretty good episode overall, though it could use some tweaking.

Cold Front

Episode Name: Cold Front
Series: Star Trek Enterprise, Season 1
Rating: Three Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
The Enterprise goes to check out a star nursery, but end up joining a transport with pilgrims to check out a cool Bloom. But there's more than meets the eye with one of them, as well as one of the people on the Enterprise.
The Temporal Cold War has rejoined the equation...

Mission Report:
Beast Wars joins the Star Trek equation in a way. Interesting... Now Archer and Co. have to worry about time interference to top things off. This is going to be stressful for them.
But to the actual episode. The return of the Sulubon (sp?) was neat and a little relaxing. Nice to actually know your enemies! But even that's not heavy. And we got the question of whether or not they're really the enemies (though that's what their actions suggest).
Okay, once again I've gone a little off-topic. The story had glitches, more so than usual. These glitches were easier to see than most. And it had some of the worst acting yet. When Archer was getting "sucked" out to space, I wasn't convinced. That scene was very bad acting. Most of the series actually has pretty good acting, at least compared to that! The enjoyment level was pretty good, but had its good moments and bad moments. Most of it was good, however.
All in all, the show was pretty good, but seriously needs some tweaking.

Fortunate Son

Episode Name: Fortunate Son
Series: Star Trek Enterprise
Rating: Three and a Half Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
When the freighter ship Fortunate releases a distress signal, the Enterprise is sent to help. They discover that the Fortunate had been attacked by the Nausicans (sp?; pirates). The Fortunate crew takes the help, not overly happy about it, offered by Captain Archer.
Travis faces questions from a fellow Boomer, questioning his decision to join the Enterprise, but that's no way going to be the only trouble.
Oh yeah, things are going to get wild...

Mission Report:
Better. No way the best, but better.
Travis (the Boomer) gets some more character in this one. That's really nice... he's been pretty one-sided up to this point. It's nice to see him get some character.
The story could use some tweaking (reason for lost half-Spaceship). Some reasons for why people did what didn't exactly make sense. Some things in general didn't make sense. But this story wasn't total trash. It was decently done, but could use some tweaking.
The enjoyment level was pretty good. It didn't totally bore, though there were some slow moments. And the trap scene was so obvious (the scene in Module 8). I was mentally screaming, "It's a trap! Trap!" Maybe not in that order or exact wording, but you get the general idea.
So the story needs tweaking, but this was actually a pretty good episode all in all... better than some I've seen!

Civilization

Episode Name: Civilization
Series: Star Trek Enterprise, Season 1
Rating: Three and a Half Spaceship

Mission Briefing:
Captain Archer and Co. discover a M-Class (I believe that's what it's called every other Star Trek series) planet, one with a thriving civilization! They're pre-industry (sp?; Middle Ages like), but Archer and a team go down to study the planet up close & personal.
But they discover a mystery... one that deals with a different set of aliens!

Mission Report:
Now this is more like it! The story was good, it had some action, and some mystery. And I think it's the return of an old enemy... more likely, an alien species that's similar.
Archer was kind of dumb... that was dangerous going down to a planet too early! If their secret got out, the reaction might have equaled a nuclear war in destructiveness! Warp drive might be too long to wait, however... it depends on the species. Personal opinion, as well as my thought that if a different alien species is playing around with the species, it was probably a good idea to jump in and interfere to stop them (as long as they kept their secret and/or tried), but Archer's original reasons... I don't think that was very safe.
It was nice to see a good episode again.
This is also an episode where I believe that we see T'Pol act the most human she's ever done. It was during the space-battle. I just personally felt that her decisions and actions were more human than the emotionless Vulcan. And I'm not sure how logical "giving them back the generator" was. Thinking back, I can see where there's good acting here. Usually, the actor has to act like an emotionless Vulcan. But here, where T'Pol's a little more "human", the acting was still good and believable, so that I felt like it was T'Pol  who was acting more human. Thumbs up for the actor who plays T'Pol! And it was just cool seeing T'Pol act more human like usual (she still acted Vulcan, but comparatively, it was more human than usual).
The story was pretty well-done, though it could stand some tweaking. The enjoyment level was better than Breaking The Ice,  but it wasn't enough for the four-Spaceship rating. It was still enjoyable and pretty good, as well as done pretty good (though a little tweaking needed).
This episode could be tweaked a little more, but it was pretty good overall.

Breaking the Ice

Episode Name: Breaking the Ice
Series: Star Trek Enterprise, Season 1
Rating: Two and a Half Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
This time the company discovers a huge comet, possibly the largest discovered by humans! Archer sends a drilling team to get a rare mineral. Then a Vulcan ship appears, causing tensions…
Doesn’t help that T’Pol’s acting weird either…

Mission Briefing:
A sure disappointment! I came right after The Andronian Incident, hoping at least a four-Spaceship. But this episode was boring! I was bored during most of the episode, and the small action at the end didn’t help fix that. At the most, I liked Phlox acting like a counselor (it seems to be his unofficial second job) and learning a thing or two about Vulcans, though they still heavily confuse me and surprise me (they have personal wants?). Learning a little of their culture was neat, however. The enjoyment level was only average. The story… well, I was so bored, I paid little attention to how well the story was done (not a good memo!). I think it was decently done, but it was boring to me.
This isn’t my favorite Enterprise episode. Yeesh… right after a very good one! Talk about annoying!

The Andorian Incident

Episode Name: The Andorian Incident
Series: Star Trek Enterprise, Season 1
Rating: Four and a Half Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
When passing a planet with a Vulcan monastery, Archer decides to take Tripp and T’Pol for a visit. They come at the wrong time, however. A team of the Vulcans’ hostile “neighbor species”, the blue-skinned Andorians, has taken over the monastery, searching for a sensor array that the Vulcans claim doesn’t exist. Archer & Co. are captured, and things are starting to get tense… like, deadly tense! Doesn’t help that Malcolm (the security officer) is in charge and he’s getting edgy.
Things are heating up…

Mission Report:
This is the best Enterprise episode so far! The story was well-done and mostly enjoyable (one or two parts were not my fave… one made me dizzy for a second!). Seeing the monastery was cool. The action was good, and the story was just well-done. I still can’t really read T’Pol, however… yeesh… Yeah, I can’t read a Vulcan! The ending had a surprising twist that I wish was a little more explained, but the episode got away with it.
This was the best episode of Enterprise that I’ve seen so far! Way to go, guys!
