Fortunate Son

Episode Name: Fortunate Son
Series: Star Trek Enterprise
Rating: Three and a Half Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
When the freighter ship Fortunate releases a distress signal, the Enterprise is sent to help. They discover that the Fortunate had been attacked by the Nausicans (sp?; pirates). The Fortunate crew takes the help, not overly happy about it, offered by Captain Archer.
Travis faces questions from a fellow Boomer, questioning his decision to join the Enterprise, but that's no way going to be the only trouble.
Oh yeah, things are going to get wild...

Mission Report:
Better. No way the best, but better.
Travis (the Boomer) gets some more character in this one. That's really nice... he's been pretty one-sided up to this point. It's nice to see him get some character.
The story could use some tweaking (reason for lost half-Spaceship). Some reasons for why people did what didn't exactly make sense. Some things in general didn't make sense. But this story wasn't total trash. It was decently done, but could use some tweaking.
The enjoyment level was pretty good. It didn't totally bore, though there were some slow moments. And the trap scene was so obvious (the scene in Module 8). I was mentally screaming, "It's a trap! Trap!" Maybe not in that order or exact wording, but you get the general idea.
So the story needs tweaking, but this was actually a pretty good episode all in all... better than some I've seen!
