Mission Briefing:
There are new Autobots and Decepticons! Except the Autobots are called the Maximals, and the Decepticons are Predacons. After Megatron steals the Golden Disk from Cybertron, a team of Maximals follow him and his Predacons through a time-space warp (may have gotten the name wrong).
They all end up on a mysterious planet, one with extreme amounts of Energon, the Transformers' main source of energy. But the Energon levels are so high that the Cybertronians' robot bodies can't take but only a few minutes in this planet's air before short-circuiting. So everyone takes new "car/plane" modes... ones of the planet's beasts... to survive!
But will Optimus Primal, leader of the Maximals, and his team be able to stop Megatron this round?

Mission Report:
Welcome to the next series after Generation 1 (the 1980's series)! This series supposedly takes place many, many years after Gen-1 (though I suspect, due to time-warp thingies and a Stonehenge, that they're stuck on a past Earth).
The series makes a very nice start. The story of this two-parter was very good, and the action was catching. It was very enjoyable, though you have to get used to the new characters and the CGI. Yeah, this show was CGI.
But this entry shows that this addition is welcome in the Transformers universe. Let's hope the rest of the series keeps up.
