The Face of Nijika

Episode Name: The Face of Nijika
Series: The Transformers (classic, 1986), Season 3
Rating: Three and a Half Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
When a group of Autobots are on patrol, they discover the Decepticons attacking a strange giant disc... and the Quintessons protecting that disc! They join the fray.
Rodimus Prime, Perceptor, Ultra Magnus, and Blurr end up being trapped behind the disc, which is a Quadrant Lock. To top things off, Cyclonus and the Quintessons get stuck behind the Lock as well. The Autobots crash on a planet, with an ancient-Japanese like culture and high-density structures, so the people are as tough as Cybertronians, as well as their planet.
Perceptor is separated from the group, and is captured by a local. The local (Konsudon; sp?) removes Perceptor's Autobot symbol, which the circuitry behind contains his mind and an Universal Emulator, and places it in an old mini-female robot named Nijika... "Skydancer". Prospector, now Nijika, learns that the Quintessons have been on this planet years ago, and managed to stop the local's technological progess, and hide the stars from them.
Because of this, there's a grudge that's causing the Autobots trouble... and the Quins are hunting for Prospector's Universal Emulator so they can escape!

Mission Report:
This was one of my favorites. Now I'm looking at it with a critical mind, I can see that the story needs a decent amount of tweaking. But I always enjoyed the Japanese-like culture of the planet, and seeing the reactions. And... for a short time... Perceptor's a GIRL! Yep, Nijika's body is female![ :) ]
Like I said, the story needs tweaking, but this was a good show. It's more of personal tastes here. I enjoyed it.
