Episode Name: Pilot
Series: Eureka, Season 1
Rating: Four Spaceships
Mission Briefing:
When US Marshal Jack Carter and his rebel daughter Zowie get lost, and their car goes off the road, they find themselves stuck in a small town. But this is a very odd small town, like sci-fi weird! And there are odd warp-like things popping up over town… dangerous warp-thingies.
Jack soon discovers that the town is a cover for a government organization called Eureka. The top scientists of the world live in the town and work on their experiments in safety. But, at this moment, there’s something dangerous going on because of the warp-thingies (sorry, I don’t really have a name for this, but it had something to do with tachyon particles)… danger enough to destroy all of reality!
Mission Report:
Okay, this has to be one of the best pilots ever. The story was very well-done, though maybe the ending, where he gets “promoted”, could have been done better. Oh, and I loved the fact that an Autistic kid helped in a big way to save the day! The special effects were pretty good, and luckily the amount of yuck was low (cow innards, but those seemed plastic {Yay!}).
I just hope that the rest of the series is just as good as this pilot.
