Episode Name: The Ultimate Weapon
Series: The Transformers (classic, 1986), Season 3
Rating: Four Spaceships
Mission Briefing:
During a Decepticon diversion, Swindle manages to steal Metroplex's transformation cog, leaving him stuck in City Mode. First Aid, a pacifist who failed to stop Swindle due to his beliefs, leaves the Autobots, feeling miserable. Now Trypticon is heading for the helpless Metroplex. It doesn't help that Rodimus is having doubts about his leaderships abilities.
And to make things worse, even if the Autobots thwart Galvatron's new plot, he claims to have an ultimate weapon...
Mission Report:
This story needs some tweaking. It had a few glitches, all centered around Metroplex and his transformation cog. They made the cog look different than what it looked like in the 5-parter (not the big glitch, since it could just be art styles). And they say that First Aid is the only one who can insert the cog right, but in the same 5-parter mentioned above (The Five Faces of Darkness), there was a different Autobot who could do the same! Yeesh, they like forgetting story details!
But, other than that, the story was well done. The same moral was learned in two different ways; that was cool.
It's not my fave, but this was a well-done episode.
