Mission Briefing:
Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp attack a weapons factory. Chip Chase calls in the Autobots, but Optimus Prime and Spike are the only ones close enough to respond in time. Optimus is then heavily damaged. To finish things off, Megatron sends Laserbeak to Autobot HQ. Now Optimus's only hope is in a team of Autobots, along with Chip, to get a part called a cosmatron... which is on Cybertron!
But not only does Megatron plan an attack on the Autobots, he's got a deadly surprise awaiting the team on Cybertron...

Mission Report:
This is one of my least favorite episodes. It's the whole Optimus-is-at-death's-door thing. Yeah, sure, I know he goes in the Transformers movie and then comes back in Season 3 (The Return Of Optimus Prime Parts 1-2), but it's not comfortable at the least! And they almost have you believing that OP is going to be a goner forever! Not comfortable!
The story is only average material (reason for half-ship). There were a few story glitches. Like, where did that extra Reflector-bot that went over the SpaceBridge come from?
And the Acid Rain Scenes made no real sense. How did the acid rain hit the Autobots' circuitry? They were well-plated and there had been no battles or injuries to suggest otherwise! And shouldn't have the acid rain done something to Chip and/or the cosmatron? That's something I'd always wondered. Oh, to top it off, if it affected the Autobots, why didn't it affect the Decepticons activating the acid-rain storm? YEESH...!
This is nowhere near my favorite episode list!
