A Prime Problem

Episode Name: A Prime Problem
Series: The Transformers, Season 2
Rating: Four Spaceships

Mission Briefing:
Megatron and the Decepticons discover a crevice of corlonium (sp?) crystals. These rare energy-packed crystals destroy electronic circuitry on contact. In English: Cybertronian-killers! Megatron makes a clone of Optimus Prime--under his control--to lead the Autobots into the crevice. But the real Optimus Prime is around, so everyone's confused on who's who.
Like the episode name says, it's a "Prime" problem...

Mission Report:
This is an enjoyable episode to watch. The story was only average material, and needs work. I mean, a remote-controlled Optimus Prime, and it was supposed to be exactly like him, down to the smallest part? Okay, how about the part that gets Megatron's signals? Shouldn't that been different, and shouldn't have Teletraan-1 picked it up?
And there's the attitude. This is a much better-done mystery than Thief In The Night, but there were times that I felt like the character clearly showed who was who. Now, most of the time, I had problems too, but once, during a pre-trap scene, the two Optimus's spoke, and I felt like it was obvious who was the real Optimus Prime. How come no one else picked it up? There was one similar scene during the tests too...
(And I believe this episode gave the folks a chance to blow up Starscream, clone or not!)
But the enjoyment level of the show was pretty high. Watching the tests was fun... The top two Decepticons wore hats... wait, helmets are a better term...
This is not a good show to watch for the story, but it's very enjoyable!
