Mission Briefing:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots agree to guard a human scientist's (Dr. Fujiyama) new robot creation during its unveiling. It is a female robot ninja named the Nightbird. Bad news? Oh man, we can all guess...
YEP! Megatron and the Decepticons steal Nightbird. With the help of Bombshell, they reprogram her to steal Teletraan-1's World Energy Chip, which has data on all of Earth's energy resources! The Autobots are trying to get Nightbird back, but Optimus has sworn that he would not let Nightbird get hurt.
And she's not making it easy...

Mission Report:
This is one of my favorites. The ninja element was awesome! Seeing a ninja at work, fight, and so forth was so much fun! And I think Megatron had a crush on Nightbird by the end! MEGATRON! Awe-some! And guess who saved the day! GUESS! Starscream! Did I say "awesome"? Well, I'm saying it again... AWE-SOME!
There were a few story flaws. One was clever... there's a scene where Nightbird puts on a light show and disappears. It is never made clear whether it was teleportation (though most likely) or if she blinded them then ran off. But they had Bluestreak ask how she did it, and Optimus Prime says, "I wish I knew, Bluestreak." I heard that this is a good thing to do in a story.
At least one mistake wasn't as covered as well. We see Mirage get beaten up, and then it's Ironhide on the repair table! They also never made it clear how long Nightbird stayed and whether or not she beat up some other Autobots.
But, otherwise, the story was well-done and highly enjoyable. Too bad they never brought her back (though they implied it in the end).
This is (obviously) one of my fave shows!
